A few pictures from our tempo session at the keepmoat on Tuesday. Mine wasnt really a tempo session. After a warm up I did 1 mile @ marathon pace, a lap recovery. Repeat x2. thats it! I didnt even get out of my recovery heart rate zone (which i reckon is a good thing!)
Coach Tune was taking the photos. He has a blog too (its all about the blogs! Bircotes to Brighton) He ran the Brighton marathon but unfortunately pulled up with an injury so he was on photography duty tonight. i'm really gutted for Dave because he actually is an athlete! i've seen the pictures from back in the olden days when he used to win everything! When i enter a race you often see a 'course record - Dave Tune' which i find amazing!
I want to point out the Dave Tune and Jenny Blizard have been a massive part of me going from a jogger/social runner to i reckon an athlete. I use athlete losely because compared to the people I run with im in the Skrill North and they are in the Barclays Premiership! I overheard someone who ran in the cross country championships with Johnny Brownlee!! But last year after our trip to Thailand i had a knee problem and after Jenny came to talk to the new runners at Tickhill Running Club i decided to book an appt to have things checked out. Then about a month later i booked in for a lactate threshold test. then i started running with Dave on a tuesday at the keepmoat . then i joined Doncaster Athletic Club as a second claim. and i have to say that the service and support they provide is amazing! ive not been paid to put this i promise but the time and effort they put in is amazing. in 2013 i went from running a 10km in 50.05 to 42.11. I feel i understand running more. when to push, when to rest, pacing and even as simple as buying the right running trainers!!
i've gone from a runner who runs to someone who wants to PB at every race, and i feel i can do it! i genuinely believe i wouldnt be where i am without them! Jenny fixes me (generally some form of back issue) and Dave tells me what to run, when, and how long!
